And you just got started on the Landon Trail. That spooky little bridge just south of 45th can be easily walked while carrying your bike. That opens up the rest of Landon which us country folk use, all the way to 89th & Ratner (close to our home). The wife and I can catch Landon there, peddle up to the Landon/Shunga Round-about (a neat feature in itself!) and head west to catch a cup of coffee at World Cup at Washburn. We've traveled all of both trails and find them to be hidden treasures from a recreational biker's perspective.

That's a great point, Bob. Thanks for your input! I think the main reason those types of bikes aren't technically allowed is because it is assumed that they would go too fast, and interfere with walkers and joggers. Maybe the Shunga should have a speed limit of 10-12 MPH?

As we get older our knees need to be used carefully. Can someone come up with rules to allow the older people to use electric assist bikes on the trail. I have one, and I always ride slowly and courteously. I know they are not really allowed on the Shunga trail, but it would be nice if they were. Thanks Bob

Bike plans are being more widely implemented. I think its a great idea. It reminds me of how uncomfortable I am on a ski trip when snowboarders come zooming down the mountain, inches away from your body. Maybe mountains should think about implementing a snowboarding lane lol.

YES!! Please organize this...and definitely include Downtown!! Maybe on a Thursday, or a First Friday to add business to the downtown (soon-to-be core) of Topeka's nightlife.

That's a good idea Lisa. Going all the way out to Blind Tiger might be a bit too far, especially since there's not much else out that way. I forgot about Via's. That would be a great stop too.

This sounds fun. My husband and I would be interested (and we can probably talk some friends into it too). A downtown to Gage area loop would be great - the easier the loop the more recreational riders you'll get. Maybe Blind Tiger can partner up with Via's or something for the day/night?
